Learn 4 simple and effective ways I use to help people step out of mid-panic attack waves! Anxiety often stems from an overactivation in one part of your brain, so the goal is to spread out that activity and bring balance to your nervous system.

In this episode, I share four easy, practical techniques to calm your anxiety down almost immediately, whenever you feel stuck in a spiral of overthinking.

Highly recommend to watch the video version on Youtube if possible so it’s easier to follow.

Key Points:

  1. Anxiety happens when your brain gets stuck, hyper-focused on a problem, making it hard to think about anything else.
  2. A simple trick where you tap your shoulders alternately to calm your mind by shifting focus back and forth.
  3. Breathing in through one nostril and out through the other helps balance your mind and bring calm.
  4. Moving an object between your hands brings balance to both sides of your brain, helping you feel more in control.
  5. Once you’re calmer, focus on your breath and imagine it going to your lower back, helping you feel grounded and supported.

Actionable Takeaways:

  1. Cross your arms like you’re giving yourself a hug, then tap your shoulders, left to right, for 30 seconds. It helps you stop the racing thoughts and focus on calming down.
  2. Cover one nostril, take a slow breath in through the other, then switch sides and exhale. Do this for about 5–10 breaths to give your brain some balance and a breather from the anxiety.
  3. Grab something small, like a pen or water bottle, and move it between your hands. This physical movement helps your brain relax and pulls you out of that anxious loop.
  4.  When you feel ready, take deep breaths, and imagine sending your breath down into your lower back. It’s like telling your body, “I’ve got you.” This helps you feel more centered and calm.
  5. Try to use at least one of these tools each day, so when anxiety hits, you’ve already trained your mind and body to stay calm and steady.
