This movie was definitely a pleasant surprise.
Prior to watching The Founder, I already have had a lot of people recommending this movie to me. Yet I just never really get down to watching it as I expected the movie to be just another founding story. Boy, was I wrong.
Michael Keaton’s stunning acting kept me on my toes and I was entertained and transfixed into the story line from the beginning to end. As well, although I knew it was based on a true story, I was still delighted to see how honest and real the movie is.
Here’s a one sentence summarizing the movie:
The story is about Ray Kroc (played by Michael Keaton), a struggling and ambitious salesman, who met the McDonald brothers back in the 1950s and turned their innovative fast food restaurant into the most successful fast food franchise chain in the world.
This movie definitely let me step into the perspectives of a ruthless businessman, who showed his ambition and the degree he is willing to go in order to make the business successful. And along the way of achieving his dreams, he slowly changed and grew even more ambitious; what he thought were sacrifices before did not seem like sacrifices anymore.
This movie shows the reality that there is no integrity sometimes in business. At the end the winner takes all. Regardless, Ray Kroc is still an admirable figure for his constant and unyielding strive to become a successful businessman.
Overall I would give this movie a rating of 9/10. Definitely worth watching 🙂
Cheers,
Shir 🙂
